Best Fit
Ericson IT is a good fit for small businesses that have real IT needs, but do not need the cost or complexity of a full MSP contract.
Common Problems
Small business IT problems are not always clean, obvious, or limited to one device. I help sort out what is actually wrong, what needs attention, and what is not worth overcomplicating.
When systems are slow, unreliable, aging, or poorly documented, I help identify what matters and what should be cleaned up first.
Support for network problems that affect daily work, remote access, vendor systems, phones, printers, and production equipment.
Help with users, email, security settings, licensing, shared mailboxes, permissions, and Microsoft setups that have grown messy over time.
Review whether important files, servers, and business systems are actually protected and recoverable if something fails.
Help working through issues where a software, phone, copier, internet, or equipment vendor says the problem is “your network.”
Practical help with older computers, servers, software, and equipment-connected systems that the business still depends on.
Technology should make your business easier to run, not harder to trust. The process starts with understanding what is happening, what matters most, and what can reasonably wait.
We start with the problem, project, or concern affecting your business and the systems involved.
I identify what needs attention now, what can be planned for later, and what may not need changing at all.
We establish the work, timing, and expected cost before moving forward.
Ericson IT is built around clear communication, practical judgment, and support that feels personal instead of transactional.
The idea behind Ericson IT began years ago with a company I started called Computer Qual IT. The name has changed, but the purpose has not: give small businesses access to experienced IT support without requiring an enterprise budget or traditional MSP contract.
My approach was shaped by my time working in communications in the Army and by my career as a Senior Systems Administrator. I have learned that good IT is not about buying every available product or fixing everything at once. It is about understanding the business, addressing what matters today, and planning responsibly for what can wait.
Small-business owners already have enough to manage. My role is to keep their systems dependable, explain decisions clearly, and help them spend their technology budget where it will make the greatest difference.
I operate Ericson IT alongside my full-time systems administration career. Keeping the business small and overhead low allows me to provide experienced support at practical prices without depending on contracts, equipment sales, or unnecessary projects.
That model requires the right fit. Ericson IT is not a staffed 24-hour help desk, and responses may not always be immediate. I work with a limited number of businesses whose needs match the support I can reliably provide.
The goal is simple: keep your technology working so you can keep your business moving.
Some businesses need hands-on support. Others need a steady technical sounding board. Most need both, depending on the moment.
Resolve user issues, system friction, and recurring operational headaches before they turn into larger problems.
Evaluate servers, storage, networking, and identity configuration to remove technical debt and stabilize the environment.
Strengthen the basics with better configurations, cleaner processes, and practical protections.
If you need help with Microsoft systems, security improvements, support strategy, or simply a second set of eyes on what is not working, reach out directly.
Send a brief note with what is not working, what systems are involved, and whether this is urgent, recurring, or part of a larger cleanup project.
